Madhubani art
Madhubani art is a traditional folk art form from the Mithila region of Bihar, India, created for centuries by women on the walls and floors of their homes during festivals and rituals. Known for its bold outlines, intricate patterns, and flat, vibrant colors, the style often depicts nature, animals, mythology, and celestial bodies.
One of its most distinctive features is the way every inch of the surface is filled with fine lines, cross-hatching, dots, or geometric motifs, leaving almost no empty space. Madhubani art carries a strong sense of storytelling and symbolism while continuing to evolve in contemporary fashion, textiles, and design.
